Understand where cells or biologic materials originate, how they are processed and what quality-control procedures are used.

Determine which country's regulatory authority has jurisdiction and what authorization applies.

Patients should receive understandable information about risks, alternatives and the investigational nature of a therapy when applicable.

Ask what happens after treatment and who coordinates care if you experience a problem after returning home.
