Beyond medical tourism

Mexico can do far more than routine.

Mexico is known for short-trip dental and cosmetic care, but its largest medical centers handle the most complex medicine in Latin America — cardiac surgery, cancer care, transplants and intensive care.

At Green Healthcare International, we recognize institutions that demonstrate advanced clinical capabilities, specialized medical expertise and a commitment to patient care. Our selected institutions — Hospital Médica Sur, CHRISTUS Muguerza Alta Especialidad, Centro Médico ABC and IMSS Centro Médico Nacional Siglo XXI — represent both the private and the public healthcare systems.

Whether you are exploring advanced private care or learning about the capabilities of Mexico’s public system, you deserve accurate information and informed choices.

Don’t judge a hospital by its ownership, its location or its price. Judge it by its physicians, clinical capabilities, safety standards and results.

Why it matters

High-complexity medicine, explained.

For serious diagnoses or complicated surgery, the hospital’s teams, technology and intensive-care capacity matter as much as the individual physician.

Cardiology & interventional care

Specialized cardiology, catheterization and cardiovascular surgery.

Oncology

Cancer diagnosis, treatment planning and coordinated specialist care.

Complex surgery

Multidisciplinary surgical teams and advanced diagnostics.

Intensive care

Critical-care units and continuous monitoring for serious conditions.

Individual services and procedures must be confirmed directly with each hospital.

Recognizing excellence

We feature IMSS Centro Médico Nacional Siglo XXI because recognizing medical excellence matters more to us than advertising hospitals that generate business. High-complexity medicine is not found exclusively in private institutions.

Questions

Before you explore.

Can international patients be treated at IMSS Centro Médico Nacional Siglo XXI?

Siglo XXI is part of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS). Access to IMSS services is governed by eligibility, affiliation and public-system rules, so it is not a hospital where international visitors can simply purchase elective treatment. We feature it for its clinical capabilities and its contribution to public healthcare.

Why include a public hospital at all?

Because exceptional medical capabilities are not limited to private hospitals. Recognizing Mexico’s public institutions gives patients a complete, accurate picture of the country’s medicine.

Which hospital is right for me — Mexico City or Monterrey?

It depends on your condition, the specialists available and your travel. Monterrey is a short flight from Texas; Mexico City has the largest concentration of specialists. Your coordinator compares options after reviewing your records.

Is it safe to travel to Mexico for complex care?

Review the U.S. State Department travel advisory for the specific state you will visit — advisories differ by state. We plan airport transfers, accommodation near the hospital and a clear contact pathway before you travel.

Does Green Healthcare have contracts with these hospitals?

Listing a hospital does not imply a contractual partnership or endorsement. Services, physician availability and acceptance are confirmed directly with each hospital.

Who decides whether I am a candidate for treatment?

Licensed physicians and the hospital. We help you prepare records, ask the right questions and coordinate the process.
