Medicina Mixta in Costa Rica

For people seeking care within Costa Rica’s public and private systems. The private consultation is paid separately; access to CCSS services depends on current program rules, the participating professional and the patient’s eligibility.

For eligible CCSS members, Medicina Mixta combines a private consultation with access to applicable CCSS medications, tests and support services.

Costa Rica residents and nationals only

Enrollment is available only to Costa Rican citizens or legal residents with eligible, active CCSS coverage. Eligibility must be verified before care is coordinated.

How Medicina Mixta works

Green Healthcare reviews your request and verifies whether your Costa Rica residency and active CCSS coverage may qualify.
An eligible patient pays the participating private doctor’s consultation fee.
Applicable CCSS prescriptions, laboratory tests, imaging and referrals remain subject to CCSS rules, authorization and availability.

Green Healthcare coordinates the request. Participating doctors make clinical decisions, and the CCSS determines public-system eligibility and benefits.
