Complete-trip budgeting

What does medical tourism in Costa Rica really cost?

A treatment price is only one part of the budget. Build a complete estimate around clinical scope, diagnostics, travel, recovery, companion needs, follow-up and a realistic contingency.

Your written cost checklist

Green Healthcare provides preliminary coordination and quote comparison. Final scope and cost can change after evaluation by the treating provider.

How to compare proposals fairly.

Ask each provider to quote the same clinical scope and identify every exclusion. A lower headline number may omit diagnostics, anesthesia, materials, provisional work, follow-up or travel requirements included elsewhere.

Can I get an exact price before clinical evaluation?

Usually not. Records may support a preliminary estimate, but examination, imaging or laboratory findings can change the final plan.

Does a quote include flights and lodging?

Only if those items are expressly listed. Ask for clinical care and travel services to be itemized separately.

Medical tourism Costa Rica cost: treatment plus the full journey

Clinical costs

Ask for professional, facility, anesthesia, tests, devices, medicines and follow-up fees. Identify which amounts are provisional and the findings that could change them.

Practical costs

Budget for travel, transfers, accessible accommodation if needed, meals, companion support and the stay advised by the clinician. Ask whether the plan includes a later visit.

Changed plans

Clarify cancellation terms, extended accommodation and the financial responsibilities if recovery takes longer or additional treatment is proposed. Keep an allowance for uncertainty rather than treating an estimate as a guaranteed total.
